Noticing More: Just Hanging There

"All alone! Whether you like it or not, alone is something you'll be quite a lot!"
Dr Seuss

I noticed this lonely sneaker hanging around since the end of summer. Suspended by its lace from barbed wire on a pedestrian bridge over a busy A road, it’s precariously close to plummeting onto the passing traffic below.

Each time I pass, whatever the weather or the time of day, I find myself looking out for it and in this curious way it has become part of my Ordinary Life.

I wonder what it’s story is. Who did it belong to? How and why did find itself in this perilous position? Am I the only one that looks out for it? Surely not! It might also be a Super Ordinary part of someone else life, too.

If I walked over the bridge tomorrow and found that it wasn’t there, I’d probably miss it.

Do you have a similar story attached to some random thing that you encounter on your daily life?
